Model United Nations has already had its first General Body Meeting last week on September 29th. During our Meeting we went through a Model United Nations simulation that one will experience if they attend a conference. We also explained our three teams within our organization, Travel, PR/Finance, and Home Conference. Krists Auders (kauders@ucsd.edu), our Undersecretary General of Travel, discussed new opportunities this year to attend various conferences, possibly including the prestigious Harvard Model United Nations Conference. He will be holding meetings for the Travel on Tuesdays at 7pm in Asante Classroom A/D at International House in ERC. Our Prinance Team, Alex Swan (aswan@ucsd.edu), the USG of Public Relations, and Sarah Mccracken, the USG of Finance talked about how the prinance team will focus on fund raising this year and exploring different publicity opportunities. They mentioned that they are looking for people who are interested in web design, event creation and promotion to come to their weekly meetings. Alex Swan, the USG of PR, also mentioned that there will be an opportunity at the end of Winter Quarter to take her postion as USG of PR, while she studies abroad during the spring. So if you are interested in becoming a secretariat member this is a great opportunity for you. Their weekly meetings will be on Wednesdays at 7pm in Asante Room C located in ERC, next to the Great Hall. Home Conference USGs, Rebecca Saar (rsaar@ucsd.edu) and Tess Sprague discussed the High School Conference that will take place on Oct. 11th and 12th in ERC. They are looking for interested members to become Lawyers, Witnesses, and OPI staff to help with the Conference. They will be having a meeting on Monday, Oct. 6th in Asante Room A at 6 pm to go over details about the Conference. If you cannot make that meeting they also have their weekly meeting at 8pm Wednesday in Asante Room C.

We look forward to a great year and great conference!
